Overview

JB Terengganu Fish Noodle at Triple One Restaurant offers a unique culinary journey into the flavors of Terengganu, right in the heart of Johor Bahru. Located in Taman Bukit Indah, this spacious eatery stands out for its clean, well-organized environment where tables are spaced generously, allowing diners to enjoy their meal in comfort without feeling cramped.

The signature dish, Terengganu Fish Noodles, delivers a distinct taste that differs markedly from the familiar Teochew-style fish noodles. The broth is rich and layered, infused with fried fish slices, ginger, pickled vegetables, and a careful balance of pork and tomatoes, all contributing to a complex umami profile. Some diners note a hint of saltiness, but it complements the broth’s deep flavor. The accompanying black noodles and mee pok are crafted with care, adding texture and substance to the meal.

One highlight is the variety of sambal served with the fish, offering contrasting sweet and sour notes that elevate the overall tasting experience. This pairing breathes new life into traditional fish noodle dishes, making each bite interesting. The soup’s subtle prawn undertones further enhance the dish’s coastal character, paying homage to Terengganu’s rich seafood heritage.

Beyond the food, the restaurant caters well to a broad audience, including families with children, promising satisfying portions for all ages. The ambiance is lively but never overwhelming, fostering a communal dining atmosphere that matches the bustling neighborhood surrounded by car workshops and local coffee shops.

Ordering is streamlined through QR code menus, reflecting a modern touch in this casual setting. Reasonably priced without compromising portion size or quality, JB Terengganu Fish Noodle at Triple One strikes a balance between authenticity and accessibility—a must-visit for those eager to explore regional Malaysian flavors with a twist.

We love this place - Great service and the food is excellent. The sliced fish soup is filled with fried fish slices, ginger slices, pickled vegetables, pork and tomatoes. The flavour is great, but can be a little on the salty side. The black noodles are super tasty too! Highly recommended!

food for kids and adults also got. My two fish noodle had good presentation. The soup is near to prawn soup. Each fish had different sambal. One is more sour and the other is more sweet. Taking the fish with noodle plus soup together gives good taste and Umami flavor.

Spacious and clean eatery in a not very crowded area with many car workshops and a couple of coffeeshops. Tables are spaced far apart. Order via QR Code. Ordered the two fish with noodles and the Mee pok. The steamed fish went really well with the sambal sauce.

好特别又好吃的味道! Terengganu Fish Noodles was a fulfilling breakfast. It tasted so different from Teochew style fish noodles, which mainly gotten its taste from 扁鱼 and 冬菜. It was a pleasant new experience. Go try it yourself ! I would bring friends so I could try the other dishes!

I was curious about why the menu featured dishes from Terengganu, but to my surprise, the flavors were on point. The space is quite large and gives off a lively, bustling atmosphere, It never felt too crowded, just comfortably busy. reasonable price for the portion sizes and quality of the food. Overall, it’s a great spot worth visiting!

The bantang fish soup small at 14.50 is quite good. Fish slices very fresh and decent portion. The meatball (only 2 or 3 small ones) quite unique as well. However, the ice lemon tea is too sweet. There are some flies around which disturb the dining experience.
